Welcome to Week 4!

After last week's reflection journey, I decided to use the "The four F's of active reviewing" framework designed by Dr. Roger Greenaway for reflection once again.

Fact:

Something unexpected happened this week, and I realised that my previous understanding of Plans A, B, and C was mistaken. I had been thinking that they were three completely different plans, but in reality, they were supposed to be different levels of completion of similar plans. I thought they were three completely different plans, but in reality they should be different levels of completion of similar plans. To ensure the project can move forward smoothly, I decided to change my original plan and create a more reasonable timeline. Needless to say, this really disrupted my rhythm, especially with a major assignment due soon.

Based on the feedback from the survey and my consideration of the actual situation, I decided to go with idea B for expansion.

My Hypothetical Vision:

The root cause of forgetfulness is an issue that deserves to be explored in depth. The vision of the project is to create an innovative platform to help the forgetfulness community to relieve stress and manage their emotions by combining new auditory and visual methods in conjunction with an app and AR. We aim to provide a safe, private and creative space for users to express their emotions, recall and cherish memories, and relax through a multi-sensory immersive experience.

Feeling:

In this situation, I felt some anxiety and stress. The initial misunderstanding that led to the deviation from the plan made me uneasy, especially since I thought I had the entire project under control. However, I quickly adjusted and realised that being flexible to unexpected changes is an inevitable part of the project process. This made me recognise the importance of adjusting my attitude and communicating with my tutor about my project’s process to ensure that it’s on the right track.

Founding:

The first thing I realised was understanding the intent and logic of the plan in the early stages of the project is crucial. Making a clear plan at the beginning can prevent time wastage from later adjustments. Secondly, I noticed that my resilience in the face of frustration has improved compared to before. I was able to quickly adjust my mindset and redefine the project based on the original plan, which disrupted the original rhythm but also proved that I possessed the ability to deal with unexpected situations flexibly. Finally, I also discovered the importance of timely communication with my tutor. Timely communication about the progress of the project can ensure that it develops in the right direction.

Future:

In future designs, I will focus more on reviewing and communicating at each stage to ensure that I can clearly understand the steps at each stage. I will be reviewing and checking the project plan on a regular basis to identify potential misunderstandings in a timely manner. In addition, it is an important ability to be able to make timely adjustments to the situation when facing unknown changes in the future. I will place greater emphasis on the user's requirement analysis and the logic of the project, approaching any potential challenges with a flexible and inclusive mindset.

In addition, I added a User Role as Project Leader and Value Proposition Canvas to help me look at Plan B from an entrepreneurial perspective and hopefully gain more insight to ensure the project is viable and competitive in the marketplace.

Key Insight

1. Convenient technical way, users can carry it with them.

2. Users can record their mood anytime and anywhere to release pressure.

3. Creative and personalised way of recording moods with interactivity.

4. The communication section allows users to understand that everyone is under pressure, does not need to be anxious because of temporary difficulties, and does not have sugar troubles and anxiety that destroy their original enthusiasm and determination. This shared experience can bring more emotional support and empathy.

5. The data analysis function can help users track their emotional changes and further understand their mental health.

6. The docking function with professional counsellors allows users to quickly access professional help when needed, enhancing their sense of security and trust.

Through this process, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the forgetfulness project plan. As an entrepreneur, I want to personally understand the challenges that users face in their daily lives and integrate these insights into my design concept. I am committed to creating a platform that not only meets the needs of the forgetful community but also helps users relieve stress and manage their emotions through innovative auditory and visual experiences. I hope that through this project, I can achieve commercial success and a positive social impact. Furthermore, adding more substance to the project enhances the value of Plan B and attracts potential investors and partners, laying a solid foundation for the project's success.

Secondly, I also balanced the gap between the target plan and the realistic constraints of a startup. The reality gap may result in not reaching the maximum expectations for the project, but we also have to move on to the second plan and keep going even if we have yet to achieve perfection. This is one of the purposes of producing three different levels of plans.

Tools I'm using:

In the past week and this week, I have used the Persona and the Value Proposition Canvas as design tools to build empathy. Combining these tools has helped me better understand the target users' needs, preferences, and behaviour patterns, enhancing the user experience.

By analysing the project leader's Value Proposition Canvas, I could better define the product's core values and desire to develop innovative interventions that meet the market's needs and make the design competitive. However, I have to say that the creation of personas made me rely on specific user personas and ignore the diversity of real users.
